สำหรับในขั้นตอนต่อไป รัฐสภาจะทำการลงมติในวันพรุ่งนี้ว่าจะเห็นชอบต่อการที่อังกฤษแยกตัวออกจาก EU โดยไร้ข้อตกลงหรือไม่ ซึ่งหากรัฐสภามีมติไม่เห็นชอบ ก็จะทำการลงมติในวันพฤหัสบดีว่าจะเรียกร้องให้ EU ขยายกำหนดเวลาการแยกตัวจากเดิมในวันที่ 29 มี.ค.หรือไม่ ซึ่งหากรัฐสภามีมติเรียกร้องให้ EU ขยายกำหนดเวลาออกไป รัฐบาลก็จะต้องทำการเจรจากับ EU ในเรื่องดังกล่าว แต่หากรัฐสภามีมติไม่เรียกร้องให้ EU ขยายกำหนดเวลาออกไป อังกฤษก็จะแยกตัวจาก EU อย่างเป็นทางการตามกำหนดเดิมในวันที่ 29 มี.ค.
