The outbreak of coronavirus had caused global demand in crude oil to plummet from the already-low price. Countries are starting to ban travel such as Italy and the US, while the largest oil consumer, China, temporarily closed factories to contain the virus from spreading.

โดยราคาหุ้นเดือนมกราคมปรับตัวอยู่ที่ระดับ 41.50 บาท (31 ม.ค.60) บวก 11.25 บาท หรือเพิ่มขึ้น 37.19% จากระดับ 30.25 บาท (30 ธ.ค. 59) ราคาหุ้นปรับตัวขึ้นแรงส่วนหนึ่งมาจากพื้นฐานบริษัทที่ทำกำไรอย่างโดดเด่น อีกทั้งเทคนิคหุ้นเป็นขาขึ้นยิ่งทำให้นักลงทุนเข้ามาเก็งกำไรอย่างหนาแน่น

ขณะที่ก่อนหน้านี้คณะกรรมการบริหารนโยบายพลังงาน (กบง.) เห็นชอบให้ปรับสูตรราคา NGV โดยเพิ่มค่าใช้จ่ายในการปรับคุณภาพ NGV เฉพาะรถส่วนบุคคล เบื้องต้นมีค่าดำเนินการราว 0.46 บาท/กก. ซึ่งปตท.ทยอยปรับเพิ่มต้นทุนค่าดำเนินการ โดยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ครั้ง คือในรอบเดือนก.ย. และรอบเดือนต.ค.
