คณะกรรมการกำหนดนโยบายการเงิน (FOMC) ของธนาคารกลางสหรัฐ (เฟด) มีมติเป็นเอกฉันท์ให้ปรับขึ้นอัตราดอกเบี้ยระยะสั้นอีก 0.25% สู่ระดับ 0.50-0.75% ในการประชุมเมื่อวานนี้ ตามที่ตลาดการเงินคาดการณ์ไว้ นอกจากนี้ FOMC ยังมีมติปรับขึ้นอัตราดอกเบี้ยมาตรฐาน (discount rate) สู่ระดับ 1.25% จากเดิมที่ระดับ 1%

นอกจากนี้ เรื่องของกรีซยังไม่มีความคืบหน้า และใกล้ครบกำหนดชำระหนี้ในวันที่ 12 พ.ค.นี้แล้ว ซึ่งจะต้องติดตามดูว่าจะเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง แม้ว่ากรีซจะมีการชำระดอกเบี้ย 200 ล้านยูโรให้กับกองทุนการเงินระหว่างประเทศ(IMF) แล้ว แต่ก็ยังมีส่วนที่เหลือที่จะต้องชำระอีก ซึ่งก็มีจำนวนที่มากกว่าส่วนที่ชำระไปแล้ว
